Chris Botta, former VP of Communications for the New York Islanders, now runs an independent Blog called Islanders Point Blank which is also affiliated with Fanhouse and SNY.  Chris was with the team for 20 years, years that included Mike Milbury, John Spano and the Gang of Four (should I go on?).  So, obviously, Chris is uniquely qualified to give his thoughts on all things Islanders and to regale us with stories of the sometimes sublime, sometimes ridiculous, history of the team.

Chris was kind enough to give Sports Talk an EXCLUSIVE when he read from e-mails that he received from John Spano from Federal Prison.  The interview is 49+ commercial-free minutes in MP3 format.  You can follow Chris on Twitter, too.

As we broadcast in the shadows of their home arena and consider ourselves one of the few places where Isles fans can go to talk about their favorite team, we were fortunate to welcome Newsday's Islanders beat reporter Katie Strang for a Season Preview.  The Preview is 14+ commercial-free minutes of nothing but Islanders talk and provides a nice discussion on how the team is shaping up coming out of Training Camp.  Check out Katie's work everyday in Newsday, in her Isles Files blog and at Twitter.

With September 1st upon us and the Mets season not including meaningful September games again this year, what better time then to talk Mets prospects down on the farm, right?  Jon Star of Inside Pitch Magazine joined us to discuss the Top 5 Prospects, some diamonds in the rough and to give his thoughts on the younger Mets players already in the Show.

Enjoy!  And, please take a listen again in a year or two to see just how right (or wrong) Jon was...
